The Step One Survey is a screening tool that helps managers avoid costly hiring mistakes by providing valuable insight into a candidate’s work ethic, integrity, reliability, and propensity toward risky behavior, such as substance abuse and theft. It also provides information about a candidate’s history of employment and work-related problems. The benefits of this assessment include hiring trustworthy, dependable individuals, reduced cost of hiring mistakes, reduced risk of employee theft and fraud, and reduced employee turnover. Reports include an interview report, which provides the manager with the candidate’s responses as well as suggested interview questions to ask the candidate for clarification, and a quick check report, which provides a score based on the candidate’s responses to questions about work ethic, integrity, reliability, and substance abuse.
